37. Eyes
The full moon shone down on her path making it unusually bright. The leaves glistened from a recent short rainfall, and the forest ground was soft and springy, making it seem at some points like she was never really even touching down on the ground. Flying away, getting away. She was running from her fear, her only fear. The
Luella! Luella, come back!
No! She had to keep going. She had to! If she didnt

Stop!
He just didnt understand! If he had only seen what she had seen, he would understand! He would know why she suddenly had to take flight. He wouldnt try and stop her. He would let her get away; he wouldnt slow her down. She risked a look back to see how far ahead she was. Not enough! Rikiel was on his horse! She wouldnt be able to get away! She would be forever trapped because the
Luella, please stop! You must stop!
It wouldnt take much longer for him to catch up. She had gone in a bad direction. The way she took led out of the woods. There would be fewer trees and Rikiels horse would doubtlessly be able to catch up. Could she still turn and find a way back to go deeper in the woods? No, any turn like that would create too much of a disadvantage for her. She was already losing more ground then she could ever make up- she was slowing down by the second. She could almost just feel her strength pouring out of her as she tried to just keep one foot going on after the next. It seemed like as she got slower and slower, Rikiel just got faster and faster. Now it was getting to sound like he was almost just right behind her
He jumped of his horse, and after a moment of misbalance he easily caught up to her. He grabbed her wrist to try and stop her. She tried to pull lose while continuing to run and only proceeded to fall while dragging Rikiel with her. She tried to get up while kicking and flailing at him, but he just grabbed her shoulders and pushed her to the ground.
What is the matter with you? he demanded. Now that he could see her face up close, she looked fairly horror-stricken. Her eyes had a glint of madness in them and her pupils were dilated to the point where you almost couldnt even see the jade color around them. The jade color that time after time again could make a poor innocent boy take interest in her.
Then for a second she calmed down. Her eyes returned close to their normal state, and she stopped thrashing. Her mouth opened as if she suddenly realized he was there. Then immediately her eyes got even wider than they had been and she started thrashing desperately to get up. It took all of Rikiels strength to keep holding her down.
She gasped in for air. Its there
What are you talking about?!
Theyre there
Theyre watching! The eyes are watching!
Yeah, if it was in an open field or something like that, she wouldn't have stood a chance. XD
